So here is my second project as part of Pootles Design Team for October. Every Thursday in October my team and I are bringing out projects featuring a stamp set given to us by our wonderful upline Pootles Papercraft thatLs Sam Donald.
I was scared of this stamp set at first as it’s not something I would pick but I now love it and I am really happy we were given this one as it has pushed me out of my comfort zone and week 4’s project is absolutely the best card I have ever made! SO thank you Sam for this great gift and opportunity.
Base measures - 5 7/8 inch x 4 1/8 inch that’s 14.9cm x 10.1cm in rich razzleberry
Mat - 1/4 inch that’s 1/2 cm shorter and narrower than the base
Layer - 1/4 inch that’s 1/2 cm shorter and narrower than the mat
Colours - daffodil delight, rich razzleberry and memento black
Embellishments - acrylic shapes, silver sequins off some old trim, wink of Stella
Adhesives - tombow and glue dots
I used a Craft knife and cut out the two window/light bits on the street lamp and added some white cardsok so I could colour it with daffodil delight and wink of Stella.
I was cleaning my stamps a few months back with a microfibre cloth and notice that the ink had sprayed onto my card. It ruined that card but works very well for other ones. So that is what I did to the layer on this card.
I put so rich razzleberry onto my clear block and lightly sprayed that with water over my project. No water is hitting my paper is doesn’t ruin the basic whisper white cardstock.
Hello craft lovers! Today's project is a cheeky one. I have pinched some supplies and only made it because my other idea fell through!
I bought some mint imperials to pop into the new test tubes to look like snowballs but they were too big. So I bought mini marshmallows instead and found 2 of the treats bags in my swaps/scraps box so I created these cute little treat bags.
I simply filled my bags up with mints, folded over the top and stapled it shut. Then cut a bend around it with eastern DSP. This measured 2 inches x 12 inches that's 5 cm x 30 cm.
Popped that into my scallop tag topper punch and glued it onto the bag with fuse.
I stamped and punch a Santa from cookie cutter and sentiment from Santa suit. This was attached by some bakers twine and some dimensionals for Santa.
The belly band has bakers twine wrapped around as well. This is a really easy idea and great for last minute events and parties you have forgotten about! Here is my matching video tutorial. Click HERE to watch it! Supplies used -
Today is an extra special post. I am on my upline Pootles (Sam Donald’s) design team for October. That means that every Thursday in October me a a small group of us will feature a stamp set we have been given. Sam will be sharing us on her blog so you can jump around and see everyone’s projects.
We have all been given the stamp set Brightly Lit Christmas. If I am honest this wouldn’t be my first choice but since playing with it I am in love! That’s the great thing about crafting, on paper things may not look exciting but after a play and adding in some other projects things become wonderful.
I am so grateful and lucky to have a fab team and upline. Sam giving us the opportunity to be featured on her very successful blog is wonderful. Being giving a ‘hard’ stamp set in my opinion is also fab. It means I have to stretch myself and I have made my favourite card of all time which I am sailing for week 4!
My card measures 5 7/8 inch x 4 2/8 inch that’s 10.6cm x 14.7cm.
I used thick very vanilla as my base.
My real red mat is cut at 1/4 inch that’s 1/2cm shorter and narrower than my base.
My very vanilla layer is 1/4 inch that’s 1/2cm shorter and narrower than my mat.
I punched a 1 1/4 inch circle from real red
1 inch circle from soft suede
1/2 inch circle from soft suede
My faux washi tape strip is 3 11/16 inch that’s 9.2cm and 1/2 inch that’s 1.3cm wide. I did make mine a little longer so I could wrap the edges around the layer.
My sentiment and circles are all popped up with dimensionals.
I used a glitter gold gel pen to do faux stitching around the layer and colours in the light. I added some faceted gems and enamel shapes with some gold vinyl stickers just to make the card really pop and sparkle. I popped a sticker inside the card as well.
As you can see from my photo I used a variety of images including the lamp post, sentiment and presents from the stamp set.
Whisper white craft ink
I hope you like this first card and please check out the res of my teams.
Today's project is not a complete one. What I mean by this is that the marble effect I haven't shown as this is coming in a video next month. So I have just decorated the card for you and will bring a part 2 soon.
My card base is a 4x6 inch that's 10x15cm once folded. The base is stuck together to create a postcard style card. The base is embossed using the hexagon 3D embossing folder.
I embossed the happy sentiment and added some glitter gold gen pen to the raised parts to add dimension and create more texture.
I die cut the circle using the circle layering Framelits. My sentiment I have stamped onto whisper white using basic black. That is from the watercolour wings stamp set.
My base was originally whisper white before I used the shaving foam marble technique which you will be shown very soon.
I added a white mat under the happy sentiment and added some white onto the back for somewhere to write. Again the bits used in this project have come from my scraps/left overs box which is always full of half done projects, scraps and samples.
