Spotty Vellum Bag

How are you all today? I am writing this on my lazy Sunday. Sunday's are now my blog writing day. I stay in bed, stuff my face and type. Now I know about the scheduled option I am well excited! (yes I know I am slow on the uptake but I have only been blogging for 7 months).

Having that function on YouTube is amazing as well! Last night saw me film my first ever video tutorial with my slightly improved camera setup. Strong emphasis on slightly improved.

You will need:

  • 1 sheet of Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (Gold • 133363/Silver • 133364 13,50 € | £10.00)
Silver Spotty sheet - 8 inches X 10.5 inches
  • Mini glue dots (103683 6,50 € | £4.75)
  • Paper piercer (126189 5,00 € | £3.75)
  • Simply scored board (122334 36,00 € | £27.00)
  • Fast fuse ((12 m) • 129026 12,00 € | £9.00/Refill (20 m) • 129027 9,00 € | £7.00)
  • Large flower punch (retired) [Alternative option Fun Flower 133785 22,00 € | £16.00/Flower Medallion 137417 22,00 € | £16.00]
  • Window punch (retired) [Alternative option NEW Washi Label 138296 22,00 € | £16.00/Word Window 119857 19,50 € | £14.50]
  • Whisper White Cardstock (106549 9,75 € | £7.25)
1 piece 3 X 1.5 inches

Now that you have all your supplies lets get cracking.

Step 1 -
Once your vellum is scored you need to make your score marks. On the long side (10.5 inches) you need to score at - 0.5 inches,3  inches, 5.5 inches, 8 inches.

Step 2 -
Now turn your vellum and score along the short side. Score at - 1 inch, 6 inches.

Step 3 -
Burnish all your score lines with your fingers. Do not use a bone folder as you may burnish too well and the vellum will rip.

Step 4 -
Now you need to cut off and wedge into the smallest skinny rectangle. You then need to wedge into all the squares along the same row of score lines. The red lines and sections in the diagram below show which lines to cut into.

Step 5 -
Add fast fuse onto the skinny edge and adhere the bag together. Then you can just push those edges a little more if needed.

Step 6 -
Score your piece of whisper white in half (1.5 inches) then use fast fuse and add it to the back of the bag. Add one of the ends of the Velcro onto the white flap and then add the other end to the bag making it close shut.

Step 7 -
I then added a large flower punch in old olive and a window of gold glitter paper. I adhered the flower with dimensional and the window with glue dots.

You are now done and ready to add a name or sentiment onto the bag. You can add another punch of paper or use the ones already on the bag. This can be changed to whatever size and colour scheme that's needed.

I hope you have enjoyed this project and look out for it on YouTube in the next couple days. Link's to this blog will be in the description box on YouTube.

Much love
C
