Sprinkles Punch

Hello all!

Sorry I missed some posts this week. I haven't been well and have been very down. Sadly my anxiety is high at the moment.

I have a UTI and the symptoms are making me suffer so I'm behind. I have a class Thursday so I'm getting sorted for that as I have a new customer attending so want to give her the best as I do for everyone!

We are making a shaker card and will be using the new sprinkles punch from the new catalogue.

Here are some screen shots of the punch in the catalogue. Let me know if you need one!

I wasn't too sure at first as I love using glitter and sequins in my shaker cards but it work really well.

If you are doing a smaller shaker card window you can cut the sprinkles into smaller pieces.

Anyway this is just a quick hi from me and I'll be back later in the week.

Mixed Media Draws

Hello lovelies!

I'm sorry I've been absent! I've not been well and one of the perks to being disabled with bad health is taking time off when needed however I know I have let you down with posts and I'm so sorry.

While I was sick I done a DIY on some jewellery box draws I got from the charity shop. I have a few DIY projects so watch this space!

Here's a picture -

The draws were white with child flowers painted on and a horrible fluffy pink handle. I took off the handle and cheap flower knobs and sanded it all down.

I then painted it grey with a tester pot from asda! Here is the colour I chose.

I bought a £1 sample pot and the draws cost £1 so the cost is at £2 now.

Then I glued on some beads from hobbycraft with a hot glue gun. Costing £1.

I put silver glitter on the front of the draws with mod podge gloss and sealed with that also. I added red glitter glue to the edges taking the price to £3.50.

For the final touches I went over the whole draws with mod podge gloss and punched out some real red flowers using Stampin' up products. I put red buttons in the centre and personalised with her initial. This took the price to £5.

That was the best money and time spent. I really encourage you to check out the charity shops, car boots, second hand sites, thrift stores and goodwill! Wherever you are in the world you'll find bargains! Just look hard!

I'm on a mission to make all of my presents or do something to them like add a photo to give it that personal loving touch.

Anyway sorry again for going MIA but I'm catching up! Speak soon

Lots of love

What are classes?

Hello my loves,

How is everyone? I hope your enjoying my posts and I am very happy to be posting more regularly. I thought I would share what exactly are stampin' up! classes. Well every demo does different classes depending so this post is focused on what I do at my classes.

I run a weekly class which is either 1pm-3pm or 7pm-9pm. I swap my times each week so that my customers can have more flexibility and then they can come at a time that suits their lifestyle.

My classes are advertised as 2 hours but if my customers want to stay on for 3 hours then that is fine with us and I tell all of my customers that I am happy for classes to last 2-3 hours.

We do 2 projects and have a break in between for cake drinks. Sometimes we do 1 project if it is a really large one. I charge £10 each but if you book more than 2 events a month then you get them for £8 each.

I also do special classes which cost more but my customers get to take home a stamp set or kit. For example if you check out my Baby Bear post you will see a special class option. http://zakscreatingwithadifference.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/baby-bear-buzz.html

I also offer mummy and me craft classes for kids and parents during the school holidays. We do a monthly get together as well where we do any kind of craft.

So as you can see I try to offer a variety of classes with varying times and dates to suit peoples needs. I obviously offer parties and workshops and we can rent halls if needed but I do them mostly at my home.

I think at home is good as well because if a customer needs another supply it's all there ready for them whereas in another venue I wouldn't be able to offer all of my supplies as that would take a while to organise. I don't know about you but I have LOADS of craft supplies lol.

Anyway I hope you like this little explanation of what I do for my classes. If you live in Reading, Berkshire, UK and want to come then please message me!

lots of love

Class Design

Hello beauties!

Today I am sharing with you the card design I made for my first ever class. This was a simple card that showcased the new in colours 2016-2018 and the matching DSP. Some of my customers used the ribbon and others used enamel dots and retired candy dots to embellish their card.

The card was such a hit that some of the ladies stayed later to make a second card of their choice. This one was a fathers day theme but the father sentiment was excluded for those that didn't need it.

The card was 4x6 inches that's 10x15cm. The DSP layer was 1/4 inch shorter and narrower or 1 cm shorter and narrower. The very vanilla layer was 1/4 inch shorter and narrower or 1 cm shorter and narrower than the DSP layer.

They used the retired 2 1/2 inch circle punch and the current 2 inch circle punch and the 1 3/4 inch circle punch. They sponged the edges and we stamped off then stamped the compass in the corner. We popped the world and sentiment up with dimensionals. The father sentiment was stamped straight onto the layer. I embellished mine with some enamel dots.

This was simple but effective and I think this is the best kind of project for your first event. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Party Time

Hello fellow crafters and artists,

How are you all? Today I am showing you some pictures of party favours and invites I made for a 13th birthday party at the start of the year. I made 100 invites and favours with thank you notes stuck on them.

The invites were 4x6 inches or 10x15cm. I used most of the products from the spring/summer catalogue. Sadly they have retired but there are so many great replacements in the new annual catalogue that you can easily re-create something similar. I will link to my suggestions below.

I have added some DSP, washi tape and stamp sets that will create a very similar design however you can just use the basic design I have and change up everything else. That is the brilliance of Stampin' Up! everything coordinates so you can use anything and if one thing retires something better comes in!

I also sponged the edges of some of the layers to add some dimension. The things inside the party favours are some chocolates, glow sticks and sherbet sticks, These really were a great hit!

My layers on the invites were 1/2 an inch shorter and narrower that's 1.5cm shorter or narrower. The tags on the favours were 2 inches wide and 2 inches long that's 5cm wide and 5cm long. I also used the scalloped tag topper punch as well. Here is a link to a converter if you would like the measurements in another format. https://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/length.htm

I used SU glassine bags, I think filled them with the treats and stapled them shut with SU hand held stapler. I covered the join with some washi tape and add the tag on the front. These are so simple to do it's amazing. If you are in a fix of what to do go with simple! Embellish it and everyone thinks you paid a fortune!
