I hope you are all well! Today I am sharing with you a christening card I was asked to make. It was in doing this that I realised that I don't have many child stamp sets or christening themed stamp sets so I had to improvise and come up with something. That's when I saw my chick from a retired stamp set and though thats it!
I haven't been the best at watercolouring so I have been practising a lot to make sure I improve and I am happy to say that is working. The elephant I coloured from a card swap was simply perfect (if I do say so myself).
Today's card is an A5 card (half an A4). This is a popular size for my customers at the moment and I charge £5 for these as I make them a matching envelope as well. The watercolour piece of paper I have used is 1 inch shorter and narrower or 2.5 cm.
I have a sheet of vellum under the watercolour which is the same width as the base but 1 inch or 2.5 cm shorter. I have stamped gorgeous grunge on the background and the lace stamp from grateful bunch as well. My colours are gold, whisper white, pink pirouette, blushing bride and melon mambo.
I have also stamped off on my grid paper to lighten the colours at certain points of the card. The chick is coloured in with aqua painters and melon mambo ink. I have simply squeezed the colour onto the lid and then use that as a pallette.
I have done a light wash under the chick so it isn't standing in the middle of the air. I didn't like it to much so covered it up with a sentiment I printed from the computer.
I have cut out a balloon with some retired DSP and stick it down with a dimensional. I have also added some retired bakers twine so I have linked a similar one down below. I have also added some glitter tape which was in the last sale-a-bration catalogue.

An A5 card is 15cm x 21cm or 5 7/8inch x 8 1/4inch.
I also used the envelope punch board to make my envelope. I will share how to use one in a future post.
