Cousins Birthday

Hi folks!

I hope you are all well and I hope my new schedule for blog posts is ok, I tried daily but I have a lot on at the moment so I am doing every other day and if one week I have time for once daily I will but that will be an extra not the normal routine.

These cards are for my cousin, it was her birthday last week and I made her a card from us, mum and grandad. Grandad's was an A5 card but mine and mums were a standard 4" x 6" (A6 card).

I did slack a little but if I can get on top of this scheduling thing and have enough projects to schedule then I will be fine. It's a great feature setting posts to publish at a later date but it's getting the chance to schedule them in the first place! lol

Here is a link so you can convert the measurements into whatever format you need: https://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/length.htm

Card 1:

Base: 5.8" x 8.3" (inches)
Layer 1: 5.5" x 8" (inches)
Layer 2: 5.3 x 7.8" (inches)
Layer 3: 4.8" x 7.3" (inches)
Layer 4: 3.5" x 5.3" (inches)
Layer 5: 3" x 4.8" (inches)
Layer 6: 2.5" x 4.3" (inches)

I just stamped Granddaughter by masking the words 'graduation', 'friend' and 'daughter' from thoughtful banners. It's amazing how versatile your stamps can be when you need them too! I then punched it out with the duet banner punch and another one with painters palette. I used the little square image from party with cake to make a border on layer 6 and I stamped a cake. I stamped my sentiments on layer 4 from party with cake and thoughtful banners. I added some retired embellishments and a bow with some flirty flamingo ribbon. Layers 2 and 4 are DSP and layers 1, 3, 5 and 7 are very vanilla. My base is flirty flamingo.

I used the flirty flamingo envelope paper to make my envelope using the punch board. I think it's a great tool and I always use it for my A5 card envelopes.

Card 2:

Base: 4" x 6" (inches)
Layer 1: 3.75" x 5.75" (inches)
Layer 2: 3.25" x 5.25" (inches)

I used the same square image to make a border around layer 2 and I stamped off sometimes to give a feel of depth and texture. I put some retired embellishments in the centre of some of my letter from the sentiment. I add a knot this time at the base from flirty flamingo ink. The base is rich razzleberry and layer 2 is very vanilla. C6 very vanilla envelope.

Card 3:
Base: Peekaboo Peach - 4" x 5" (inches)
Layer 1: Very Vanilla - 3.5" x 5.5" (inches)
Layer 2: Painters Palette - 3" x 5" (inches)
Layer 3: Very Vanilla - 2.5" x 4.5" (inches)

I used the sprinkles image in the party with cake set to make a border on layer 3 and I stamped my sentiments and my hedgehogs on layer 3 as well. I then covered the flower image with some retired embellishments to make it look like balloons. C6 very vanilla envelope.

I then done the same to the inside of each card. I also flicked on some gold wink of stella onto all of my cards inside and out. I think it adds that pow factor.

Here is a list of my products and as ever an alternative to any retired products I have used:
