Pootles Blog Hop Autumn/Winter 2018

Pootles Team Autumn/Winter Blog Hop

Hello wonderful people,

So it's that time again! The autumn/winter catalogue has just begun. Let's get our fluffy socks out, write our wish list, plan our christmas list and get crafting. But first, go check out everyone's great projects showcasing all the new wonderful goodies lined up for us over the next few months!

Here is my project and I am in love. It can be festive, celebratory, just because or something for yourself all by changing the colours and embellishments. I have been in love with butterflies and unicorns since I was a little girl. They are just about the only feminine thing about me! Well as we all know unicorns are on trend so I came up with this idea in bed a few weeks ago and whilst my husband is in hospital I have had some down time to make them. Here is the one for this post and look out for a whole family and videos coming to you in the next few weeks.

Her name is Lola and she is the start of my unicorn series sharing throughout September an October.

Here are some pictures -

I used the layering circles die set to make the base  and my roses. I used the largest one to make the front and back of the face and a variety of sizes both plain and scalloped.

Cut yourself a piece of cardstock 3 inch X 14 inch (you will need to stick a small piece 3 inch X 2 inch onto a 3 inch X 12 inch to make it 14 inch.

Score at 1 inch on both sides along the 3 inch side

Lightly score along the 14 inch side at 1 inch, 2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, 6 inch, 7 inch, 8 inch, 9 inch, 10 inch, 11 inch.

Stick tear tape along each score line and wedge into the 1 inch marks as seen above.

Draw your lashes and cheeks onto a white circle and the stick to one side of the long strip with tape. Then stick the back one on. You can just take a few bits of backing off at a time to make things easier.

I cut a scalloped large circle out and stuck to the back. I used the leaves from the rooted in nature set too make ears for the unicorn. I layered them and coloured the smaller in powder pink.

You then cut the smaller ones into spirals and wrap them around to make the roses. Use glue dots to stick sections as you go and then add some tombow to the middle ones all done. Grab some scissors and curve the edges to make the flowers look more realistic.

I used the cardstock pack and DSP from the new frosted floral suite. I splattered wink of Stella and added some enamel shapes to the centre of the flowers.

I added a iridescent wreaths as a crown for my unicorn. Her name is Lola and she is not the only unicorn in this house.

I’ll be sharing another post later in the week sharing the products I used and showing a video tutorial. Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy and go and check out the rest of my teams projects.

Lots of love
